he new-for-2012 Nissan Sunny moves down to the sub-compact segment with a completely redesigned car, while offering more space than ever before.
The Sunny sedan, based on the Micra hatchback platform, now comes from India, and is powered by a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine, mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic. The basic ‘S’ model comes with 14-inch steel wheels, CD/MP3 stereo, AUX jack, cloth upholstery, trip computer and a black grille surround.
The ‘SV’ model, identified by a chrome grille surround and door handles, adds power mirrors, front power windows, keyless entry, upgraded cloth seats and hubcaps, with an optional comfort package that adds fog lights, rear power windows, rear fan vents, parking sensors, more speakers and a central rear armrest. The top ‘SL’ model comes only in automatic, with 15-inch alloys, Bluetooth, steering-wheel stereo controls, nicer gauges with more readings, cloth trim on the doors, rear spoiler and mud guards. All models get dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, and seatbelts for all five seating positions.
